Washington: Steep Rock Association hike

On July 13, come to Macricostas Preserve for a hike through a landscape illuminated by the Buck Moon from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m., a special time as the trails are typically closed.

Once meeting at the main parking lot (124 Christian St., New Preston), our enclave of explorers will proceed over boardwalk, around hayfield, and into forest with the Lookout as a destination. This rocky outcropping will provide the perfect platform for viewing the moonrise and letting out a howl or hoot into the night.

Participants should wear appropriate clothing/footwear for a challenging hike over uneven terrain, bring water, and have a flashlight or headlamp on hand.

Registration is required and donations are gratefully accepted. Please register online at https://steeprockassoc.org/events-programs. Inclement weather will cancel the event.
