Blackpool is the top place in the UK for offering affordable food

New research has revealed that Blackpool has ranked the top place across the UK for 'cheap eats'.

As the cost of living crisis rises, people are always looking for ways to reduce costs whether that's budgeting for the food shop or one less takeaway a month, but new research has shown that in Blackpool 45% of their food establishments are offering affordable food.

Small Business Prices found that the seaside town also offers takeaway options too, with 62% allowing customers to take away their food. To conduct the research, Small Business Prices looked at several factors such as the number of places offering lunches per capita and the average rating of food establishments in each city, before giving each one a score out of 100.

Blackpool ranked more than 5% higher than Sheffield which came in second place. Behind this were Plymouth and Newcastle.
