Writing and producing bombastic pop songs (Beyoncé’s “Halo,” Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love,” Adele’s “Rumour Has It,” OneRepublic’s “Apologize”) made Ryan Tedder almost endlessly rich. Now the Oklahoma native is hoping some of that hit-making magic has rubbed off onto his Beverly Hills home, which is newly listed at $16.5 million. That’s nearly $5 million more than Tedder and his wife Genevieve paid for the place seven years ago.
Back in 2015, when the Tedders bought it, the classic 1960s midcentury modern home had been freshly overhauled by noted interior designed Trip Haenisch and Hadi Halawani. Since then, a comparison of listing photos from then and now reveals not much has changed — apart from the addition of some fresh paint and a few designer light fixtures.
Still, it’s clear this place is move-in ready. Situated behind big gates on a half-acre cul-de-sac lot, the property includes a flat motorcourt with space for six cars, plus a three-car garage. The single-story home flaunts large public rooms; a living room and combo dining/family area are bisected by a huge, double-sided fireplace sheathed in exotically grained stone. A minimalist kitchen is Euro-chic in its simplicity, with stark white cabinets and premium stainless appliances, including a glass-fronted refrigerator.
There are six bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms on the premises, and the primary suite has foldaway glass doors that open directly to the backyard. There’s also a glassy shower with dual rainfall showerheads, plus a soaking tub and sizable closet. A skylit gym, sauna and office round out the amenities within more than 5,000 square feet of interior space.
Given the (usually) balmy Los Angeles weather, it’s no surprise that Tedder’s yard is primed for entertaining and relaxing. Flanking the notably large swimming pool are multiple outdoor fireplaces and an outdoor kitchen servicing a built-in bar. Grassy lawns are ideal for playtime, and the entire property is surrounded by big trees for enhanced privacy and serenity.
Listed by Tracy Tutor at Douglas Elliman, the house is squirreled away within Trousdale Estates, a hyper-desirable Beverly Hills neighborhood filled with groovy midcentury modern homes. In fact, Tedder used to own another one of them — one that’s just a few streets away from the house he’s currently selling. In 2017, the Grammy winner sold that second house to Cindy Crawford, who later flipped it to the billionaire founder of WhatsApp.
No word yet about where Tedder is moving, but the 43-year-old still owns multiple other homes, including a lavish condo at the West Hollywood Edition complex that’s currently up for sale and in escrow with an unknown buyer, and an $8 million West Hollywood mansion that was photographed by Architectural Digest.
